Just two general announcements.

1.I didn't get the website updated this weekend. I'm sorry!
If you are looking for your name on the extension or waiting list on the website, I'm behind. I apologize. It was my birthday celebration yesterday and I just did not have the time. I'm gonna try to get it done tonight.

I'll be handing out waiting list assignments starting tomorrow (Tuesday) evening, so expect an e-mail or LJ note if you've requested to be on the waiting list.


2.We need more people!
There are approximately 87 open spots right now.
And there are approximately 42 people on the waiting list!

My preference right now is to find new people, because I want this project to include as many people as it can.

However, I do have people interested in doing second or even third chapters. I'll grant them those at the end of the week to fill needed spaces. So if you are interested in being a part of this, let me know ASAP.

Joining the community does not mean you are in the project. You also need to e-mail me the request. Just want to make sure that's clear.



Quick facts for those who might be interested:

Needed:
2d artwork or 3d artwork that can be photographed to illustrate various chapters in the Harry Potter books (chapters are assigned at random sorry, the first waiting list group got random chapters so I think it's only fair the second one does too ^^). If you prefer to draw a certain character though let me know, I'll see what I can do but there are no promises.

Due Date for Pinch Hitters:
9/20/08 preferably, but 10/30/08 if you need it.

Cost:
$5.00 USD per person
Payment types accepted: paypal, money orders, checks, cash if you trust that. I'm also willing to work with you to find a way to send the money. I don't want inability to send money tobe an issue, though you will need to pay.

Payment Date:
In stages, so when you sign up be sure to give me an active e-mail address (and notify me if it ever become in active!) because I'll need a sure fire way to contact you.

With three days to go until I drop people from their chapters for lack of response:

I now know for a fact that every single person who still remains on the "Need to Confirm or I will Drop You List" as been contacted personally by me TWICE. And by 'Twice' I mean contacted twice via every method available to me, LJ Note, DA Note, and E-mail -_-

Not to mention these people were contacted by one of the 6 people who initially helped me contact everyone.

Plus I know this was promoted on at least two news letters and two well watched LJ Journals.

PLUS the one major rule that thing that I repeatedly said needed to be done was to watch one of the communities either on DA or LJ and I know I've mentioned impending removals there multiple times.

Therefore, no sympathy given to anyone who looses there chapter this Saturday.
I do not care if you artwork is done.
You loose the spot.
Period.


I'm sorry to be so harsh (and I hate to be harsh!) but with a huge list of people who have informed me they've dropped, I do not feel it's unreasonable to ask people to reconfirm their interest at this juncture so that the pinch hitters have as much time as possible because this is a big deal to people.


Everyone was initially contacted nearly 4 weeks ago, and multiple times sense then. Everyone has had time to respond. If an e-mail address is no longer current and/or LJ notes where set to private and/or there is someone other reason it completely impossible for me to reach someone, It was STILL stated that everyone should have been watching one of the communities.

So 8/2/2008 anyone who has not proven to me they are a living breathing active person in this project looses their chapter to someone on the waiting list who IS a living breathing active person in this project.

If there are not enough people on the waiting list I will post in as many places as I'm allowed to that there are more open spots in order to get more new people.

If I don't get enough by the end of that week I'll open it to people who are interested in second or third chapters just so all the spots are filled.

If there are still open spots, we'll see then.

If you contact me after 8/2/2008 and try to get your chapter back the best you can do is get on the waiting list and get a new chapter (the sole exception is if you send me proof that you contacted me prior to 8/2/2008 and I simply failed to remove your name because I'm a moron, but prior to dropping anyone I will search me both my e-mails and double check my DA notes as I've not deleted anything pertaining to the project since June)


(Btw it is my birthday 8/2/2008. Completing this stage of the Hp-Art-Project is my present to myself *L*)

Please keep in mind thoughL If you e-mail me today, you won't see your name off the online list yet because I can't access e-mail at work ^^
Double checking in this case though might not be a bad idea.

I'm trying extremely hard not to make a mistake on this but I am human so again, double checking is never a bad idea.

First off, with one more month left before I see most of the art I can’t tell you how excited I am. That art I’ve gotten so far as been absolutely amazing and this is going to be brilliant when it’s done ^__^

On Art You can Submit
One thing I wanted to mention though is I’m getting some responses along the lines of:
-I don’t usually do 2d art
-I usually do 3D
Etc

I just wanted to re-states 9since I’m not sure I’ve done so since this went live last November) the art itself does NOT need to be 2D. Only what you submit to me need to be 2d.

What does that mean?
It means you can make 3d art items like costumes, pottery, metalwork, crochet, baked goods etc etc so long as it relates in some way to the chapter you’ve been assigned.
What you submit though needs to be a 2D image of your 3d object (so a photograph) that fits the image requirements.
Like this concept would be completely ok, but you'd probably want to take a better photo

Layouts: Time to get Started?
I know a few people volunteered to help with layouts. If you still want to do this let me know. I’ve about 25 pieces of art already, so we could start laying those out as a trial run before the crunch hits. I know it was agreed we all needed the same printer, but was it agreed we should have one person lay all this out? 0.o

Dividers (aka those doing Book Cover Art to denote the start of a new book): Ack! And Opps!
If you are doing a "Divider" we need to get together and talk about how we want to do this, because the art introducing each new book needs to stand out from the rest of the chapter art, but ummm what we do would depend on how far along on the art you all are.

I’m also thinking or listing all the comments to JKR at the beginning of each new "book" which would also serve to differentiate the start of each new book.
