I just got Pinch Hitter assignments out to everyone requesting either a First or Second Chapter.

Yes yeah I'm still dragging on giving out third assignments.
I'm sure it's gonna have to happen, but right now, even if I gave everyone offering to do a third chapter a chapter, I *still* can't cover all the open chapters.

Because I'm gonna be listing spots and begging for more new people anyway, so I thought I'd hold out just a bit longer in the hopes of assigning as few triplicate chapters as possible.

I will breakdown and use y'all by the end of this week. I promise.
Again, it's not that I don't appreciate you, you guys are amazingly awesome for offering, it's just I feel its best for the sprite of the project to use as few triplicates as possible ;

Total Needed Chapters: 25
Total Possibly Open Chapters: 77

Possible Total: 102

New to the project Pinch Hitters: 8
People willing to Pinch Hit a second chapter: 23
People willing to Pinch Hit a third Chapter: 15

Total: 46

Clearly, I need Pinch Hitters still.
Again, I prefer new people, mostly because I want as many artists as possible, but also because of the 5.00 fee. I feel bad charging people extra for helping out, but if I keep doubling (and tripling!) chapters, there are less and less funds for this project, which could cause an issue down the road.

The Deadline For Pinch Hitters: It has Extended
Initially I was trying to get all art in by two weeks into November. I've had some amazing Pinch Hitters who actually met that crazy deadline earlier than needed. You guys are made of awesome.

However, Tudorpot (AKA she who is binding the book) says at this point nothing will happen until January, SO that means the Art project Deadline can be extended to 1/1/2009 with a 15 day buffer for me to track you down or replace you.

So if you want to pinch hit, please let me know. Also if you think you can produce art in 15 days let me know because I'll put you down as able to cover anything that is not done by 1/1/2009.

Notes
1.Remember there are TWO people per chapter. If you see a chapter listed twice, it's not a typo, it means no one is covering it.

2.Anything listed after the word "maybe" isn't a confirmed drop. The deadline I set on hearing back from people who have chapters from book 4 and 5 ends today, and book 6 and 7 people just got notified last night, so their deadline ends Friday. That's why there are so many maybe on those chapters. I'm still accepting confirmations.

3.The deadline for books 1-3 ended last night. The maybe's are special circumstances but those will be open chapters after today as even for those people, the confirmation deadline passes tonight.

Due to the large number of open chapter I makle the following alloance: you can list your top TEN (10)choices HOWEVER, if you do this, please specify if you are open to anything or only those 10

I know the chapter can matter, but I can't have single chapter requests because everyone tends to want the same 5 or so chapters.


Keep in mind I can also accept pre-made art for open chapters:
It helps though if the art is close to the art-project size specifications:
Portrait Orientation = 6.5 X 9.5 inches 350 DPI
Landscape Orientation = 9.5 X 6 inches 350 DPI

Ok, I think I've gotten most of the art in now.
If you have not gotten art to me OR a reason why I don't have art, you'll be hearing from me soon.

Right now, roughly 139 people did NOT turn in art and did not give me notification

How does that effect the Project?
1. Right now, to say the least, I'm not happy. So if my e-mails sound a bit grumpy I'm sorry. I'm hoping they don't but it may filter through. I have an awful poker face. ETA I think this didn't sound like what I meant it to sound like. I'm not mad at anyone person, I'm just frustrated with the extra work ;; If you are late I'm not mad at you, and I still want your art. Just let me know!

2. I may drop the 'two people per chapter' idea because so many chapters don't have any art period (unless people pull through). OBVIOUSLY if you turned in art, I won't drop that. All turned in art is in the book. But I would not try to find two people per chapter, I'd simply try and make sure, at this point, every chapter is covered by at least one person. That will make the book wonky a bit, but I'm not sure I can find that many pinch hitters -_-

3. Also, The deadline for printing I guess is now really pushed back, because to find Pinch hitters at all on this scale, I need to offer more than two weeks time, especially now with all the fests going on for the Holidays.

ETA Ok Printing won't start until Jan, so that gives me more time to offer pinch hitters.

Art Submissions
I'm still trying to get through the art submissions.
I updated the webpage to reflect art I had gotten through prior to 9/30, but I've got about a page more of e-mails to go.

I will add the new art to the scrapbook entry as soon as I get a new card so I can renew my LJ account. Sorry on the delay there; I wasn't expecting to loose that card and loose the scrapbook feature for a week or so *blush*

Project Editing
Project Editing goes ok. I know book layouts are being worked on, but are waiting on some page layout ideas from me, which I'm running late on (wedding concerns ate my last two weekends).

Book Title?
We are also debating if the title should be on the book or of the book cover is blank. I prefer a blank book cover with the title on the title page once the book is opened, Tudorpot prefers the title on the book.
Thoughts?

Also, thoughts on what to title this?
The Harry Potter Art project sounds kinda bland I think!
I realize I should have thought of this but I didn't until I was working on title page layouts 0.o

Pinch Hitters
Also, I've got about 5 people who I'm pretty sure have dropped.
Again my preference is to fill drops with new faces before going on to 2nd and third assignments (especially thirds, I'm really trying hard not to resort to third assignments 0.o) If anyone knows anyone who wants to do this and can get art out fast, direct 'em over here!


Payments
Still working on getting a set up that has good accountability on my part without opening me up to identity theft or making the IRS think they can tax me more 0.o
Right now though am not even at a point where I need money yet, though we are close.

I know I send things out from there, but only when I need to e-mail every single person in this project in one e-mail. Gmail lets me do that, Hotmail won't. But I do not understand gmail well and I keep loosing people's art and such when they send it to gmail. I can just about promise you I will miss/loose/forget about things that end up in my gmail account because it is not my primary account for this project.
